AWARDS

International Society for Technical Communication - Distinguished Communication Award (1997)

For creation of a story about OWP for Fisher-Rosemount Industries. This was an interactive, multimedia presentation about a software program with a split personality - or rather 19 of them. The project was used to help the sales force demonstrate this complex new program to process engineers in all major manufacturing sectors: food, pharma, chemical, and more.

I scripted, directed, and led the graphics teams to develop 3D animations, live action sequences, and many graphics.

Innovation Award - Landmark Graphics Corp. (2001)

For creation and implementation of a storyboarding process used across an international geoscientific corporation. This software development company dealt with widely, geographically distributed teams on related but independent projects in many different languages. Communication breakdowns were common.

The storyboarding process allowed groups (each with their own jargon) across the enterprize to communcate more effectively. For example, the process encouraged software engineers to use-case stories and pictures to describe their goals to marketing, sales, customers, executives, and allowed these groups to reciprocate more accurately and realistically.

I developed the process and trained groups of trainers who returned to their groups and taught the process to their departments.

Integration Award - Landmark Graphics Corp. - Usability Team (2003)

For creation and implementation of an interactive, online release notes and training website that enabled the widely-distributed sales force to quickly learn the upgrades for a synchronous release of 23 interrelated, but independent software packages. I was a proud member of a team of 3 who earned this award.
