With thanks for everything she brought to my life, I call all to celebrate being human, joy individual and as part of a community.
Quality of life for self and family. Our extended family is immense.
In the spirit of the love Judy showed all she knew.  Thank you.

Greenspace

Judy's present for me, organizing a show midst all her travails.  Printing some of her favorites for Christmas, she with Karen set up a showing of my work in Greenspace.  Judy always loved planning parties and took great pleasure in the development, the details in the final presentation.  This with everything she did.  I am honored with what she brought to my life.  She gave me so much.

A Moment of Magic
Judy always approached life with spirit and energy.
Lonnie Ali’s tribute to MLK talked of two things that bring to my mind who Judy was.
First of Thomas Merton and his experiencing “the glorious destiny that simply comes from being a human person and from being united with, not separated from, the rest of the human race.”
The second quoting Muhammad Ali being fond of saying “the key to a man's soul is in his heart.”

Judy’s heart was incredible and an inspiration for the world.  She believed in individual creativity with responsibility to the community.  She cared for people and she loved fully.  Her mind was curious, ever exploring and she loved planning celebrations.    She took joy in other people’s happiness.

Judy and I
From the beginning of our partnership, Judy and I were always pursuing projects beyond work.  She and I worked in very different ways but we meshed.  I worked quietly with a detailed focus, the frame.  Judy worked with a broad vision, large in scale, able to see what she wanted.  Capable of the details but impatient with the process, her mind was constantly exploring.  Judy was the vision and energy and I was happy to be her support and stability through the productions.  Judy’s work always started with a well developed idea.  Development was always part of it but it was pretty clear what she wanted.  My work was always about process, see where it goes, adding layers and what that makes the piece. She encouraged me, she inspired me, she made me a better person.

I have several of my pieces in celebration of Judy.

Please send me any thoughts or memories of Judy to xo@xojudy.com.   thank you
